Raw materials for fiber artists. I know these pieces might be more than some folks
need so if you'd be interested in half a chunk for half the price let me know.

I make these pieces as the spirit moves me and use them in my own work. Some are "ART CLOTH ONLY" meaning I would not use them for any application that would include washing, like garments or bedwear. Since I make more than I could ever use, here's the overflow.

This is 19"x36" piece of vintage sack cloth, the tighter weave variety probably used for flour or sugar. It's been hand dyed and painted with metallic textile paint. Go here for a clickable, closer look. $18.00 includes shipping in the US
this is a one of a kind so please email me first for availability or for other payment options.

Golden Galaxy is a 34?34 piece of premium bleached muslin that has been hand dyed, painted with metallic textile paints and heat set. Although the paints are intended for use on textiles, this piece was created as Art Cloth and I would not recommend using it in anything washable even though I have machine washed and dried it at least once. This is a bundle of my "sugar dyed" cotton damasks. This is what's left of last summer's production. I have four sets. Go here for more information on my process. Each of the folded pieces are roughly fat quarters plus a couple of pieces big enough to wear to church as a hat. This is fabric with some history. Most were tablecloths from estate sales in Narragansett, RI. Some purchased off the internet from who knows where and when. 35"x44", this is a smooth handed, mid-weight quality cotton hand dyed with Procion MX dyes. Please go here for a better look but the longer I look at, the less likely it is that anyone else is going to get to use it. :)

Caribe! This 29"x44" piece is from the same bolt as the piece above. A smooth finished, cotton, it's light enough for applique and sturdy enough for piecing. The colors really are this intense. Go here for a closer look.

Early Rust is one of my first rust experiments. Source metal is a cast iron camping frying pan. I wrapped the pan with some of that soft, mid=weight cotton and soaked the bundle in vinegar and then left it outside on the deck, stinking merrily for a few days. It's a generous 33"x45".
